If you told your 2020 self that the COVID-19 pandemic would still exist in 2022, they’d probably be surprised. But here we are. While businesses are slowly opening and we’re gradually settling into the “new normal”, there are still a number of precautions we need to follow and it includes staying at home as much as possible and whenever mandated to.

While we’ve likely mastered the quarantine life by now, we’ve made a quick guide on how we can better take care of ourselves while in quarantine.

1. Stay connected with friends and family

Being stuck at home with no physical interaction doesn’t necessarily mean that we stop getting in touch with those we care about. Checking in with our friends and family is especially important during a global pandemic. Ask how they’re doing and catch up a bit through calling or texting. If you’re comfortable doing so, tell them how you’re doing as well. At a time like this, a little support might be just what we need.

2. Keep your space clean and orderly

Studies show that on one’s mental health. While we love relaxing practices like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, there’s this comfort and serenity that only a clean home can bring.

If you’re taking the quarantine as an opportunity to move out and find a , take that as your chance to start fresh and have a neat space. Your place might just be the best sanctuary you’ve ever seen.

3. Watch something that encourages good vibes

What’s a home without some good vibes? Fill your new condo unit with good and happy vibes by consuming fun and uplifting content such as comedy movies and sitcoms. After all, the pandemic itself is already devastating enough. You deserve an optimism-filled break!

4. Develop an old skill or learn something new

Face-to-face interactions may be limited now, but that doesn’t mean we should stop learning and improving. Did you stop playing the guitar when life became busy? Now is your chance to pick it up and bring that old baby back to life. You could also use this quarantine as your chance to learn something new. Apps such as Duolingo and even YouTube allow you to learn a new language. You could also enroll yourself in online workshops to make the quarantine worthwhile.

5. Stay active

This is probably one of the most common tips for those in quarantine, and with good reason! We all know that exercise is good for your physical health and mental health—two things we need to take care of with or without a pandemic. Find a workout you love and take some time in a day and transform a corner in your home into your own workout space. After all, working out doesn’t have to be torture. Find something you love, whether it’s yoga, HIIT, dancing, or whatever floats your boat and gets your body moving.

6. Get enough sleep

Ah yes, another common tip, just as it should. reduces stress, helps your balance, and lets the body repair itself, among other things. With your condo being your refuge, be sure that the sleeping area is clean and comfortable. As much as possible, only use your bed for sleeping and avoid using electronic devices when you’re in it.

7. Take a break from social media and news

With a global pandemic still ongoing, there will likely be bad news every day. Take a break from social media and the news for a few minutes a day so you won’t be overwhelmed. Put your phone away as you do something you love at home, like finishing a puzzle or cooking your favorite meal. Just remember not to be totally disconnected as it’s also important to stay aware of what’s going on around you.

The global pandemic is nearing two years, and sometimes, it can be hard to imagine how and when it will even end. Listen to your mind and body. Take time to prioritize yourself by trying out these healthy practices while in quarantine to keep yourself safe and healthy.
